Your first steps in Malfoid
Planned feature
Make your first wand, learn a spell and decide what to try next.
Getting settled
Malfoid is planned as a Minecraft Java survival world with useful magic, homes, gardens, workshops and player trade. You choose what to pursue after a short introduction. There are no permanent classes and no ongoing quest assignments. You can learn more than one magical discipline and combine building, exploring and gardening as you like.
This Wiki describes the planned launch experience, not a list of features already available. The ordinary Java client will use a server resource pack. A public join address has not been confirmed yet.
Your first wand and spell
There is no free starter wand. Begin with the resources for a Starter Wandmaking Bench, look for wand wood while breaking eligible tree logs, and assemble a feather-core wand at that bench. Crafting a torch discovers Lumos; learning it is a separate visit to the Spell Bench.
The intended first useful spell is roughly 15–30 active minutes into a representative fresh start. That target has not been measured in a full fresh-start test; you do not need to rush.
- Craft the starter bench from a crafting table, four planks, two sticks and one flint.
- Assemble wand wood, one chicken feather and one string at the starter bench.
- Craft a Spell Bench from one book, four planks, two copper ingots and one charcoal.
- Personally craft a torch, then study Lumos with one charcoal. Prepare it before casting.
Choose what comes next
Reading a recipe is always allowed; it does not teach your character the spell behind it. Buying a wand or enchanted tool is also legitimate, but does not transfer its maker’s knowledge. You might next grow Dewleaf, learn a protective spell, build a workshop, explore or trade.
The starter guide is intended to be free and recoverable. A journal command is planned but not available yet. Follow the written controls and recipes here without treating them as a compulsory sequence.
