Incendio
Planned feature
Light an approved brewing heat source, with bounded combat use.
Discover it, then study
Use a furnace to smelt iron, then study with one coal at the Spell Bench. No earlier learned spell is required. Smelting discovery is personal activity, not simply owning an iron ingot.
What it helps you do
Ignite supported brewing heat sources and use a bounded combat burn. Upgrade directions specialize in workshop precision or a combat cone. Learned Incendio and a crushed-herb discovery lead to Decantio, without requiring a pre-existing essence.
Cooldowns, limits and refusal
The base cooldown is 8 seconds. Exact burn damage/duration, heat-source roster and combat cone geometry are not specified. Claim protection and consent still apply; this is not unrestricted fire griefing. Successful eligible use costs condition under the normal wear rules.
Study and upgrade materials
Learn Incendio with one coal at the Spell Bench. Personally smelting iron is the discovery, not an extra consumed study ingredient; no earlier learned spell is required. Upgrade material family: heat. See Discovering and learning magic in the related guides for XP-level costs and learning tiers. Exact upgrade recipes and specialization-change materials are still undecided for each spell. The upgrade ideas above are not complete recipes.
