Crafting your first wand
Planned feature
Gather ordinary materials, then make a permanent wood-and-core pairing.
Make the bench first
The Starter Wandmaking Bench needs one crafting table, four planks, two sticks and one flint through ordinary crafting. It needs neither a wand nor a learned spell. Your first wand is assembled at this bench, not directly at an ordinary crafting table.
Find suitable wand wood
The initial bonus-drop default is a 10% chance per eligible player-broken tree log. Player-grown trees count; rebreaking placed logs does not. You do not have to fell an entire tree in one action. The tree species determines the wood identity. The chance is a starting design value, not a guaranteed number of logs to break.
Oak, birch and spruce are the planned starter woods. Appearance should reflect the saved construction rather than reducing every wood to the same item. A bought wand is a valid possession, but cannot teach you the seller’s spells.
Assemble with care
At the starter bench, combine one suitable wand wood, one chicken feather and one string for a Tier I wand. Preview the chosen wood and core before confirming. Once assembled they are permanent: there is no dismantling to recover or swap components. The resulting wand can cast the spells you personally learn; its tier does not hand out new knowledge.
- Gather suitable wand wood from eligible tree harvesting.
- Bring one feather and one string to your starter bench.
- Check the construction preview, then confirm assembly.
- Use the Spell Bench for learning and preparation; maintain the wand when condition falls.
